Tekn.lis. Matti Rintalan väitöskirja “Techniques for Implementing Concurrent Exceptions in C++” tarkastetaan julkisesti perjantaina 2.11.2012, klo 12 alkaen TTY:n Tietotalon salissa TB109.
Vastaväittäjänä toimii Assoc.Prof. Zoltán Porkoláb (Eötvös Loránd University, Dept. of Programming Languages and Compilers, Budapest, Unkari). Tilaisuutta valvoo prof. Kai Koskimies Ohjelmistotekniikan laitokselta.

Research meeting

Department's November research meeting is on Tue 20.11 at 13:15 in room

* Presenter: Samuel Lahtinen

* Topic: Samuel will present a very early prototype of a
modeling/software design tool that is designed for touch screens. The
aim is to create a tool for aiding the teaching of modeling and software 
design and research possibilities for collaborative design. He'll be 
keen to hear ideas for the tool itself, how to guide users, where to use 
it, how to test it...

Jukka Holm will be defending his thesis on Oct 5th noon in Tietotalo (TB109).

Jukka's thesis topic is:
VISUALIZING MUSIC COLLECTIONS BASED ON METADATA: CONCEPTS, USER STUDIES AND DESIGN IMPLICATIONS

The opponents are prof. emeritus Yngve Sundblad from Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm and prof. Petri Toiviainen from University of Jyväskylä.  I will be acting as the custos. Harri Siirtola from Tauchi has been the second supervisor for this thesis.
